Parents’ Association
As a Parent or Carer of a Child at our school, you are automatically a member of the St Joan of Arc School Parents’ Association, warmly referred to in the playground as the PA. Welcome!
What is the PA?
It’s here to support the school through building up a strong parent community to work with the teachers and staff. There are many ways of doing this, one of which is raising funds. Fundraising targets are set each year with the Headteacher, and cover things the school cannot afford on its own like new playground equipment, technology or school trips for each class. To achieve its goals, the PA runs several events during the school year, including International Evening (October), Quiz Night (February), Online Auction (May) and the Summer Fête (June/July). We also run the popular monthly Cake and Used Uniform Stalls and organise treats for the children at Christmas and Easter.
Our children would like to show you what a difference PA Fundraising can make to the school.
How do I find out about events?
You will receive information about the PA from the School Newsletter and via your Class Rep. To stay in touch, we welcome you to join the PA Facebook . Lastly, if your child is leaving or has recently left the school, you can stay in touch by signing up for our leavers mailing list.
Why get involved?
Your child(ren) will benefit from PA activities throughout their time at school, whether it’s enjoying state-of-the-art learning materials, dancing at a PA event disco, attending a free class trip, playing on new playground equipment or enjoying a well earned cake at the monthly cake stall. Your involvement with the PA is a great way to show them how important and valuable school is. Please plan to get involved by attending PA events and volunteering when you can – no experience necessary and all help welcome. Each family is expected to contribute around one hour a month on average.
