Year 3 Trip to the Garden Classroom

Year 3 trip to create pizzas!

Year 3 visited The Garden Classroom at King Henry’s Walk to learn about making pizza. This linked to our science learning on living things and food preparation (design technology).

We learnt about the garden, looked around to discover a variety of living things and picked herbs to use on our pizzas. To create our pizzas, we combined our maths knowledge (measuring) as well as our food technology skills. Working in groups we made dough from scratch, cut a variety of vegetables and herbs, rolled and shaped our pizza dough and topped our pizzas with tasty, fresh ingredients. The pizzas were cooked in the outdoor clay oven and we sat outdoors to taste and enjoy our delicious creations!
