Athletics competition

Our amazing year 3 and 4 athletics team went to compete against all the other Islington schools at the Quadkids championships. The team had worked very hard at school in trials and were excited to compete on the track at Finsbury Park. Each team member had to complete four events: standing long jump, howler throw, 50m sprint and 400m run. Distances and times they achieved were then converted into points and the overall combined points score determined the medals.

SJA performed amazingly well all day and achieved some impressive times; winning lots of their heats and throwing/jumping to an excellent standard. They narrowly missed out on 1^st place by just a few points (1493 to 1503) to Tufnell Park, but received well-deserved silver medals.

Congratulations to Scarlett, Aldana, Patrick, Joseph, Oliver, Orlando, David, Alex and Ife in year 4 and to Azara, Mae and Blanche in year 3. A special mention goes to Ife who was placed 1^st overall individually out of all of Islington – he was outstanding!
