‘Come and See’ is a programme that explores the religious dimension of questions about life, dignity and purpose within the Catholic tradition.
For all pupils, the programme will raise questions and provide materials for reflecting on their own experience. It will help them to explore the beliefs, values and way of life of the Catholic tradition and of other faith traditions.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church addresses the search for meaning in life. the structure of the ‘Come and See’ programme is guided by this and informs the process of each topic, opened up through; Explore, Reveal and Respond.
Within ‘Explore’ – children begin to look at and focus on the experience with their own lives – concerning themselves, their relationships and the world.
Within ‘Reveal’ – the heart of the process where knowledge and understanding of the catholic Faith is revealed through the Word, in Scripture, Tradition, doctrine, prayers, rites and Christian living.
Within ‘Respond’ – learning is assimilated, celebrated and responded to in daily life.
