Nursery Admissions

Our Nursery is open to children aged three and four, and children are eligible to start from the beginning of the term after their third birthday. Applications for nursery places are handled directly by the school. You can apply at any point throughout the year as we accept children at the start of all 3 terms.

We are currently accepting applications for children to start in our school nursery in January 2025, or April 2025. The nursery is led by a fully qualified teacher, supported by an Early Years Practitioner and Nursery Nurse. Each day runs from 8.15am to 3pm and additional childcare is available for nursery children from 3:00-5.45pm through our Extended Schools Service.

Places will be offered in accordance with the nursery admission’s policy. There are four options depending on parental circumstances:

Option A – 30 hours of free nursery education for those parents who meet the eligibility criteria (outlined below)

Option B – 15 hours of free nursery education plus 15 hours of paid nursery education for parents who do not meet the eligibility criteria, but who enter into a paid contract agreement with the nursery

Option C – 15 hours of free nursery education – Monday/ Tuesday all day and Wednesday morning

Option D – 15 hours of free nursery education – Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday all day

If you are interested in applying for either a full or part time place or would like to arrange a visit to the nursery, please contact the school by emailing admissions@st-joanofarc.islington.sch.uk  or phone 020 7226 3920.

Please note that a place in our Nursery Class does not guarantee a place in our Reception Class. Please refer to the Reception Admissions page for more information.
